On 27 October 2021, PRUT 2021 International Management and Coordination Drill was held in Giurgiulesti International Free Port under the aegis of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, in collaboration with the Romanian General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations. The aim of this event was to test the Joint Intervention Plan for emergency response.
In particular, the objective of this activity was to verify the implementation of the associated border crossing procedures in emergency situations and the correct use of the established forms. The response, in terms of team movement in the event of such situations, was timed and determined, without taking into account this time the relevant intervention actions. According to the drill scenario, 1 fire engine from the Romanian General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations and 2 intervention engines from the Cahul Department for Emergency Situations were deployed in the port.
The representatives of the joint team for the organisation and evaluation of the drill analysed in a subsequent meeting the possibilities of providing the requested support, taking decisions, alerting the authorities and intervention teams, analysing the possibilities of responding to emergency requests. The conclusions and recommendations will be integrated into the overall concept of «PRUT 2021» international drill so as to ensure a prompt and efficient organisation of potential interventions.
