Yesterday, 5 December 2024, the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea visited GIFP accompanied by the State Secretary for Transport Mircea Păscăluță, the Head of Naval Agency Igor Zaharia, and several representatives of the Ministry and the Naval Agency.
During the visit, Danube Logistics’ general director Mathias von Tucher and deputy general director Ala Aydov discussed with Minister Vladimir Bolea opportunities and challenges of the future development and covered several important topics. Danube Logistics management reiterated the necessity to ensure the efficiency of road and railway connections to the port and pointed out the importance of finalizing the M3 road construction and the repair of the railway section at the village of Văleni. Also, Danube Logistics presented the future investment plans with the aim to increase the handling capacity of cargo.
Minister Vladimir Bolea emphasized the important role of the port for securing the trade flows of essential goods to and from Moldova. The participants agreed that it is the objective to further strengthen and develop the port in order to increase the efficiency of the access to seaborne and inland shipping facilitating the trade of Moldovan importers and exporters.
