In accordance with the approved plan for preparedness and cooperation in emergency situations, a drill was conducted at the Oil Terminal within Giurgiulești International Free Port (GIFP) on the topic of Dealing with the consequences of an emergency situation caused by a fire at the tank farm.
The drill brought together intervention forces and resources from the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) and the Volunteer Firefighters (VF) of the Oil Terminal at GIFP, with the aim of training the intervention teams and developing the skills necessary to manage complex, realistic situations.
The objectives of the drill were as follows:
All the participants duly fulfilled their responsibilities, demonstrating good professional training and mobilization appropriate to the requirements of such situations. Communication between the IGSU and VF subdivisions was effective, and the response time was within the established parameters.
The drill enabled the proper evaluation of the necessary resources, the process of fire source identification and the coordination of the response actions. The quality of the information flow during the response was verified as well.
The drill was successfully carried out, fully achieving its objectives. It contributed to increasing the preparedness of the personnel and strengthening the cooperation between the IGSU and the Volunteer Firefighters of the Oil Terminal, thus enhancing our response capacity in case of emergencies.
