Today we have finalized an essential course that has complemented the skills of the Danube Logistics team at our Oil Terminal with important information on the operation and maintenance of technical installations and technological systems used in oil product storage facilities. Our trainees will be passing an attestation exam to get their operation permits after this course which is mandatory in accordance with art. 19 of Law 151/2022 on the safe operation of industrial objectives and potentially dangerous technical installations as well as the Regulation regarding the attestation of staff working in the field of industrial safety, approved through Government Resolution no. 467/2024.
The course covered aspects of fundamental industrial safety rules for high-risk industrial objects, physico-chemical properties of oil products, organization and operation of oil product storage facilities, safety rules for receiving, transshipment and storage of oil products.
Special attention was paid to the particularities of oil products such as volatility, flammability and chemical stability, the correct handling of products during the transshipment to prevent spills, fires and accidents and the maintenance of pumping stations in optimal condition. A special role in the course was given to the topic of emergency management with a detailed coverage of protective measures and mandatory procedures to prevent incidents.
The practical and interactive approach in the presentation of the course materials provided our trainees with a consistent opportunity to strengthen their professional skills, which are the foundation of the safety of technological processes at our Petroleum Products Terminal at GIFP.
