In the context of Moldova’s move towards a circular economy through the adoption of the concept of Eco-Industrial Parks (EIP), a national training dedicated to the application of circular economy principles in industry was organised in Chisinau on 8 May, with the support of UNIDO and the Swiss Government.
Among almost 70 participants who attended the training were our Danube Logistics representatives who took an active part in the sessions and exercises. The topics addressed — waste reduction, reuse of resources, industrial symbiosis and energy efficiency — are particularly relevant for the sustainable development of GIFP as part of a modern and responsible logistics network.
The event brought together international experts and representatives of national authorities, who emphasised the benefits of business-to-business collaboration for reducing environmental impact and creating added value. GIFP representative, Svetlana Știrbu, appreciated the training organised by UNIDO and proposed to continue these sessions, including on applied topics such as waste management in the oil industry. Danube Logistics’ participation in this event reflects the company’s commitment to the sustainable transformation of the logistical and industrial infrastructure in the south of the country. Through access to best practices and technical support, GIFP is aiming at becoming a key actor in Moldova’s transition towards a green, competitive and European-aligned economic model.
