From 29 September to 2nd of October, Danube Logistics has participated at the annual „Transport and Logistics 2011” exhibition. This year, for the first time the participation was joint with BEMOL Retail, its affiliated company, because the organizers of the event “Poliproject Exhibition” decided this year to combine “Transport & Logistica 2011” and “AUTOSHOW’11”exhibitions in one event. At the exhibition, Danube Logistics presented its main port objects: oil terminal, grain terminal, general cargo and container terminal as well as the industrial zone. A more detailed presentation was that of the soon to be opened general cargo and container terminal, the finalizing construction works of which should be complete by end of November 2011. The new terminal will consist of two berths with a minimum depth of 5 meters and a RoRo-ramp, and will allow the operation of diverse types of containers and cargo goods. The operation of containers will be effectuated by the newly purchased by Danube Logistics mobile harbor crane Sennebogen that was specially produced for Danube Logistics at a German production factory. The goods transshipped via the port will be further transported to/from Republic of Moldova, EU countries as well as CIS countries using its tri-modal transport infrastructure. General Director Thomas Moser has announced that very soon the tariffs for services offered at the new terminal will be made public, and assured their competitiveness and transparency.
This way, Giurgiulesti International Free Port will create new opportunities for Moldovan businesses and business people
