Thursday, 20th September 2012, H.E. William H. Moser, U.S. Ambassador to Moldova paid his first visit to Giurgiulesti International Free Port. During his stay, a tour of ports’ territory and facilities was organized by Danube Logistics administration.
Before the excursion, Thomas Moser, chairman of Danube Logistics, made a presentation, introducing the company and its main activities and development to Ambassador Moser.
“It was an honor hosting Ambassador Moser today in the Port. Guiding him through all port facilities and presenting him our development plans, was a pleasure” said Thomas Moser, chairman of Danube Logistics.
Apart from the already operational container and general cargo terminal, Ambassador Moser saw the great potential of the currently under construction mixed gauge rail terminal, underlining the importance of such a terminal in the country and its significance in the port. This terminal combines both broad- and narrow-gauge will allow transshipment of oil products as well as dry cargo including containerized cargo by rail, directly from/to Moldova, CIS and EU countries.
