Danube Logistics SRL, the general investor and operator of Giurgiulesti International Free Port, reported during the International Investment Forum of the Moldova Business Week that the volume of goods transshipped during the first 5 months of 2010 already reached 126,122 metric tons, which is already 59% more than the total transshipment during the entire year of 2009. Both, the transshipment of oil products and the transshipment of grain increased considerably in comparison to last year. In addition to oil products and grain, large quantities of gravel originating from Romania are being delivered to the Giurgiulesti International Free Port for the ongoing construction of the Container and General Cargo Terminal.
Danube Logistics SRL, was represented at the International Investment Forum by its chairman Mr. Thomas Moser. Danube Logistics aims to develop Giurgiulesti International Free Port as Moldova’s leading logistic centre and business park. To date 27 companies are registered as residents within the business park of Giurgiulesti International Free Port.
