On 5thand 6thof March, took place the International Investment Forum 2013 “Invest in Moldova”. Organizers of the event were Ministry of Economy, Moldovan Investment and Export Promotion Organization (MIEPO), World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA), International Financial Corporation (IFC), part of World Bank Group and Energy Efficiency Agency of the Republic of Moldova.
There were representatives of over 60 international companies present at the forum.” The main purposes of the event are to increase investment flows in the Republic of Moldova by underlining Moldova’s favorable investment climate, to facilitate dialogue between foreign investors and local companies, to identify future investment projects and to focus investors’ attention on specific sectors on national economy.” source: www.miepo.md
In context of the event, Thomas Moser, chairman of Danube Logistics, presented Danube Logistics, the owner and operator of Giurgiulesti International Free Port as a major example of a foreign investment project, a collaboration project between public and private sectors, in Moldova.
The second day of the forum was dedicated to site visits. A delegation of 9 people among which representatives of Chinese, Russian Federation Embassies and Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, representatives of American investment fund, consulting company, and Italian investor visited Giurgiulesti International Free Port. During their visit, a tour of port objects was organized by Danube Logistics’ administration. The guests remained pleased to see the development and infrastructure of the port.
