On Tuesday 20 July Danube Logistics, the general investor and operator of Giurgiulesti International Free Port, resumed the construction of the container and general cargo terminal. All construction works were halted on 23rd of Junedue to the flooding of the site, caused by high waters in the rivers Pruth and Danube. As a first step Danube Logistics must reinstate the working area, which was damaged by the floods so that works with heavy equipment can resume. The floods resulted in a delay of the implementation of the works by at least 1 month. Nevertheless Danube Logistics still aims to complete the terminal by the end of the year, so that its commissioning can be completed during the first quarter of 2011
